Missouri Baptist East Pavilion and Cancer Center

Their new 35,000-sq. ft. Cancer Center combines these critical components in a location designed by doctors, nurses and cancer patients. That’s because decades of experience have taught them that comfort and compassion are just as important as the science of medicine. Therefore, their comprehensive treatment planning includes equal measures of both. Their new Cancer Center also offers a Healing Garden where patients may go to find a peaceful retreat or, when possible, receive treatments by the side of their reflecting pool. Their infusion areas are equipped with wireless internet for patients and loved ones. And their Cancer Information and Resource Center is there to answer any questions to help a patient and their family through their journey.  Last year Missouri Baptist Medical Center’s cancer program saw approximately 2000 analytic cases.  Their cancer program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Radiation Oncologists and the Joint Commission. They also offer a strong palliative care program for their patients.

Recognized as one of the region’s outstanding cancer programs, their Cancer Center is organized around these basic principles:

• Comprehensive treatment -- they use state-of-the-art technology to bring you the most advanced cancer-fighting treatments.

•Multidisciplinary approach -- their team of doctors brings together the medical specialists you need to plan and implement your care. Their cancer specialist also keep your primary care physician informed of your progress every step of the way.

•Compassionate care -- they strive to support you during what can be the most difficult time for you and your loved ones. For many years, the physicians and healthcare professionals at Missouri Baptist Cancer Center have provided state-of-the-art cancer care to patients where they live – in their communities.

•Research – their goals are to provide cutting-edge research advances to their patients and to participate in discoveries that will benefit the next generation of cancer patients and people who are at risk for cancer.

•Complimentary therapy -- a service provided by their Cancer Information and Resource Center, these programs enhance the quality of life of their patients and family members, and are an integral part of the patients plan of care.

Cancer Research

Missouri Baptist Medical Center completed its third year in 2007 as the central office for a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP). They are one of only 63 community hospitals in America granted the prestigious designation by the National Cancer Institute. Only 1 percent of community hospitals ever achieve this honor. This means that through the Heartland Cancer Research Program, led by their oncologists, they can offer the latest cancer research trials to our patients.

Breakthrough Radiation Therapy - Rapid Arc™ Therapy

No other technology offers this level of options for customizing treatments according to each patient’s specific needs. RapidArc™ is a treatment option for prostate, head and neck cancer as well as some lung and breast tumors.

SAINT LOUIS, MISSOURI
St. Louis is an independent city on the eastern border of Missouri, United States. With a population of 319,294, it was the 58th-largest U.S. city at the 2010 U.S. Census. The Greater St. Louis combined statistical area's population of 2,845,298 made it the 16th-largest urban area in the country, the fourth-largest in the Midwest, and the largest in the state.
The city of St. Louis was founded in 1764 by Pierre Laclède and Auguste Chouteau, and after the Louisiana Purchase, it became a major port on the Mississippi River. Its population expanded after the American Civil War, and it became the fourth-largest city in the United States in the late 19th century. It seceded from St. Louis County in 1876, allowing it to become an independent city and limiting its political boundaries. In 1904, it hosted the 1904 World's Fair and the 1904 Olympic Games. The city's population peaked in 1950, and then began a long decline.
The economy of St. Louis relies on service, manufacturing, and tourism, and the region is home to several major corporations, including Cassidy Turley, Express Scripts, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Graybar Electric, Scottrade, Anheuser-Busch, Edward Jones Investments, Emerson Electric, Energizer, and Monsanto. St. Louis is home to three professional sports teams, including the St. Louis Cardinals, one of the most successful Major League Baseball clubs; the hockey St. Louis Blues and football St. Louis Rams. The city is commonly identified with the Gateway Arch, part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial in downtown St. Louis.

WEST ST. LOUIS COUNTY

The region shares a strong interest in offering positive family-oriented programs, maintaining quality education at all levels, and building a safe, comfortable environment where residents can live and work.

The West St. Louis County business community is a blend of small to mid-size businesses, manufacturers, and corporate offices. Economic development has flourished due to an environment which encourages new business and growth.

West St. Louis County residents have a broad spectrum of housing choices to suit a variety of lifestyles. The county has everything from modestly priced homes and apartments to sprawling country estates.

Each of the communities of Ballwin, Clarkson Valley, Ellisville, Manchester, Twin Oaks, Valley Park, Wildwood, and Winchester has its own distinctive character that a visitor can immediately sense once in each city.
